Robyn Bedford is from Calgary Alberta, she began training in ballet at the age of three and continued to train in contemporary, jazz and modern. Robyn graduated in 2017 from York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours Degree Specializing in Choreography and Performance. She was a returning member of the York Dance Ensemble where she had the privilege of working with artists Carol Anderson, Holly Small, Michael Greyeyes, Ashley Burton and Susan Lee. Bedford was actively involved in dance and theatre performances at York University including the pan-faculty production of The Birds, Dance Innovations Space Erupting and The playGround Festival production of Picture Identity-ed. Bedford has choreographed and performed in The Festival 17 by New Blue Emerging Dance with a self choreographed experimental solo “Rising.” She has performed in Your Dance Fest 2017 with Human Archetype Dance Company and for choreographer Kiera Shaw. Most recently Robyn performed in a new work “Nocturnal Space” in the Toronto Fringe Festival 2018 under the direction of Emily Rapley. Robyn is presently collaborating and teaching in the Toronto dance, music and theatre communities as a freelance artist.
